considering buying - some questions!

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

considering buying - some questions!

Post by montanaza »

Hi Gents

Spent the last hour researching this game - looks really impressive and I'm tempted to pull the trigger and purchase.

Two quick questions (I did look for the answers, but couldn't find definitive answers)

1) Does the game currently support LAN (specifically) play?

2) Full HD, 1920 x 1080 supported?

Thanks in advance guys, and merry christmas!

It runs at whatever resolution you're running, as it's essentially running in a window. I run it at 1920x1080 on my 24" monitor.

Hi
The game is not set up to run on LAN. Its either noral e-mail of the seme server system as is used for Field Of Glory which works very well. Try the free Demo currently available for the game flagged up in the main thread,

Great thanks Ian.

LAN planned for future? Saw mention of it here: http://www.armchairgeneral.com/flashpoi ... -storm.htm

"Also, if the enemy AI is not enough challenge for a player, Red Storm also has Play by E-Mail (PBEM), hot seat and LAN play options as well."

Not nagging, just geninuenly asking!

LAN is something we would like to get working in the future. We are working currently on the 2.03 update to fix a few PBEM related bugs and localization issues. Getting that stable and communicating properly with the asynchronous turns will go a long way to helping us get LAN going with this new system.

We hope you enjoy the game!!

Well it's not hyperbole..it's what I truly feel about the game. If it's not my favourite wargame ever it would def be in the top three no problem.
