Guidance Requested On Best Mods

Hi. I have been away from the game for a couple years. Just returned to the game and the forum and note that there a lot of mods out here and different files and scenarios. I know this is a bit of a pain, but can I get a little guidance from you guys about what the must have mods/scenarios are and how to find them? Thanks much. \
