If you have the time World at War TV series narrated By Sir Lawrence Olivier is well worth a look for the Second World War. World War 1 was documentary I watched as a child unrelentingly depressing especially as I lost several great uncles and cousins in that war.
Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?
