Experience of a Unit!

Post by Estharos »

What those the experience of a unit do? Those it increase the ability of that particular unit? If so how? I'm asking this because I'm wondering what will be best for my planes, increase fighting range or gaining more experience.

Doomtrader would have to give a detailed explanation as to how the calculations are done, however:

In general, for land units experience is a factor in unit effectiveness. Effectiveness is also affected by supply, terrain, etc.

For air units? I don't know.

Cheers,

Your strategy will decide what is best, more experience will mean the air units will be more effective, greater range will mean you can reach further in recon and air attack. So which is more important to your plans, this is not a tactical game where you make the best of the equipment you have, this is a strategic game where you create the force to make your strategy work.

The game is working out the odds for resolving each combat, it takes into account many factors, the strength of the unit, tech level, terrain, rivers, cities and experience level, they will all add/subtract to the overall effect. Better experience will help the combat odds a little in your favour.

Longer range will allow you to cover a larger area with fewer air units, helpful on big fronts like the Eastern Front, not so important on smaller fronts like the West, also gives you longer reach for your strategic and tactical bombers, including way out over the sea to hit fleets, wider coverage for your fighters. Only you can decide which will be best, but think ahead, something that is not useful now, may be important later.
