Can you stop the Soviet Hordes?

Post by Squirmer »

After the defeat of Germany things did not turn out quite as expected.

Lochau, August 1945 -

"Col Smithers, you are tasked with blunting the Soviet offensive in this sector. Division HQ has assigned you a well equipped armoured recce squadron in order to find out just what the Russians are up to. Cpt Blair and his Centurions are just minutes away if you need help.

Should you encounter any of the heavy stuff a squadron of Mosquito tank-busters is on call. We are lucky to have achieved temporary air superiority in this area, not that the Ruskies seem to care.

In addition we have had sporadic reports of Russian foot sloggers making their way up the mountains towards Eichenberg. A battalion of mechanised infantry is on its way to reinforce this important position."

This is a monster battle on the full Lochau/Bregenz map (for head-to-head only).

Why the Brits you may ask? Well, I am one basically :) I also wanted to see how the Centurion and Comet (the first decent tanks we produced) performed. It would be pretty simple to change the thing to a US version, indeed I may do just that ....

I am looking for volunteers to playtest this (as Soviets, C&C On). Candidates should not be averse to having a lot of units to deal with ...

I would be happy, indeed eager to test from the Soviet side. But I do not play with C&C. Tried it, don't like it - that's strictly personal and nothing against anyone who likes C&C.

If you would like testing with C&C OFF, let me know. I have all the time necessary to devote to the project.

Just to clarify, this scenario is for SPH2H, a standard 7.1 version will be along soon.

Thanks to Bing for pointing out that I hadn't made this clear :)
