Error 486 problem

Hi

I recently got a new computer HP with windows 8, I reintalled the game and 1.04 successfully and was able to play via desktop for a couple of weeks. However on Friday after a few normal window security updates, as soon as I try to open scenario I get the 486 and contact matrix forums error message.
I uninstalled the game and reinstalled but it had no effect

I have 8.1 and update this week. Just tried the game from the menu and direct from exe and works fine. What antivirus do you use?

Nortons mate and im still running 8.0

Sounds like it might have changed the registry, as far as the game goes? Usually what 486 error is.

An uninstall and reinstall should fix that.

At the blitz he stated that he uninstalled and reinstalled.

My guess is that Norton has quarantined the game exe's.

Yeah I know it should have Jason but it didn't which kinda of through me as did the fact that it had been working fine with Nortons for week or so before error came up.
However the problem has been solved after I updated to 8.1 while still running Norton
