Morale Checks for Armor targeted by Small Arms?

Does anyone else think it's a bit too easy to shake an AFV with small arms fire? Discuss!

Uh...after I learned (the hard way) that a soviet squad with mg could shake my unbuttoned PzIV...I've been buttoning up. Playing as the russian, I did shake a german AI tank with that soviet antitank rifle once...but nothing unusual and seemed possible to me. I am not an expert on infantry weapons vs tanks though, so just giving my experience so far.

Should have clarified that I'm not referring to an unbuttoned AFV. I'm just wondering whether there shouldn't be some minimum volume of fire to be sufficient to scare off a tank.

Getting shaken is one thing....6 turns to rally even after moving away from the enemy! Stupid dice...

Hmmm...I didn't think it was possible to shake a buttoned up/non open top AFV with small arms fire. I know I've seen a message saying something along the lines of "you can't hurt a tank with friggin' small arms fire" or something like that :).

You can't shake a tank with small arms fire if it's buttoned up. Yours can shake a tank with an anti-tank rifle.

**EDIT to fix omission of "buttoned up"

Are you sure? I'd swear I've seen them shaken by rifle fire.

Correct, I left out the buttoned up part. Edited my post for clarity.

THAT is a cool thing about this game...tactics, stay buttoned up and trade the spotting, or risk getting shaken....

And is you move adjacent to an enemy squad they can assault your tank by moving into your hex. Bad stuff.

BTW, you can increase your tank's chance to rally by moving into covering terrain.
