Hey guys as my other Vietnam game ended early im going to start this on as an AAR,Ive being playing it for a while and am up to turn 17.Ive called up US 1st Cav,US 1st Infantry,US 101st Airmobile,USMC 1st Marines and some aviation assets.The VC are operating in many areas and the ARVN Army is pretty inactive apart from the Airborne and Rangers so the US are taking the fight to the VC

Turn 17 Qui Nhon II Corps

The US 1st Infantry division based at Qui Nhon is conducting operations against the VC in Binh Dinh province,Its 2nd Brigade is in action destroying a political section and a Local force battalion

Turn 17 Saigon

The pic below shows the situation around Saigon,The US Air Cav have destroyed some VC and are busy securing the area around there main base at Bien Hoa

Yeah thanks for the info i have played a few of Boonierats scenarios (they are exellent) but fancy one that covers the whole war so ive decided on this one although this one is an old game that i was playing i had one running that was into 1967? but it was lost when my laptop was stolen so im starting over with this one.

Turn 18 May 1966

Reinforcements arrive from the US including the 199th Lt Inf Bde who ship to Vung Tau to head by road to the Chu Chi area north of Saigon.The 3rd Brigade of the 82nd Airborne lands near Qui Nhon and is ready for operations.The US 101st Airmobile Division arrives next turn.
The US 1st Air Cav is moving to Ban Me Thout in II Corps area to support the ARVN 23rd Division who have spotted a NVA Division on the border with Cambodia.
The US 1st Bde of the 1st Infantry Div attacks and destroys the VC 274th Regiment in Binh Dinh province near Qui Nhon the 1st battalion of the US 1st Bde suffers 20% losses in the attack not good.

Turn 18 May 1966

Saigon is protected by powerfull US and ARVN units including the US 1st Mech Bde,and the ARVN Airborne div the US 199th Lt Bde is arriving plus units from USARPAC are based in the reigon.This dosent deter a brave VC unit the 514th Battalion from operating nearby but he is surrounded and destroyed by US and ARVN armoured units.
In IV Corps area active ARVN units are thin on the ground but what units i have are engaging the VC where they can,I could do with sending a US brigade of some sort down there to help out.At the moment the only active units are the ARVN 7th Division and the IV Ranger Group who are in action against the VC 764th battalion near Can Tho

Turn 19 June 1966

Reinforcements arrive from the US and Korea which include the US 101st Airmobile and the ROK Capital Division plus the ROK Marine Bde.The US and ARVN continue to engage and defeat the VC who seem to be appearing all over the map

Turn 19 June 1966

The pic below shows the Area of Operations of the major units in South Vietnam,Ive being busy securing the cities and towns along route 1 and am now operating further inland Ban Me Thout is under threat so the US 1st Air Cav are on there way there stabalize the area.I dont intend to call up any more formations from the US yet i will get into 1967 and see where i stand.
The main VC/NVA threat at the moment seems to be from local VC battalions which appear all over the place so airmobile units are very important in getting out there and hunting them down.

T20 July 1966

I Corps AO sees the arrival of the US 11th ACR who land near HUE,The NVA have launched there strongest attack yet with troops from 3 divisions inc 304/308th and the 1st,Marine and airmobile units are moved forward to engage tne enemy.The ensuing battles cost the NVA heavy losses and the NVA 1st Divisions HQ and sappers are evaped.
In II Corps AO the US 1st Infantry are in action against the VC near Pleiku the 2nd bde and Armouerd cav surround and destroy a VC Gurilla unit

T20 July 1966

III/IV Corps AO The ARVN Para Division helilifts into Long Khanh province where VC are on the move,The VC units is found attacked and destroyed by the paras supported by US arty and aircraft from Bian Hoa.
The US 199th Lt Bde is still in Bien Hoa province and bumps into another VC unit which it destroys,I was moving this Brigade to Tay Ninh but im basing them in Bien Hoa now as i cant seem to get them away from it.
In the Delta reigon ARVN Rangers and Army units are constantly fighting local VC units and destroying them but more VC appear all the time.

T21 August 1966

I Corps AO, The remainder of the US 11th ACR lands near Hue City they will move north to the DMZ.The USMC 5th and 7th Regiments attack and drive back the NVA 1st Division on the Laotian border evaping two units.The surrounded NVA 304th Division near Hhe Sanh is pounded and destroyed by US Arty and follow up attacks by US and ARVN units.
The USMC 1st Regiment and the 11th ACR attack the NVA on the DMZ evaping one regiment NVA Arty then shells the Marines and a folloe up attack by the NVA 308th Division destroys a marine regiment not good.In Quang Tin province US 101st and Marines engage a heavy NVA force on the border driving them back and destroying one regiment.



II Corps AO, The US 3rd Bde/101st are ambushed moving north along route 1 in Binh Dinh province,Arty is called in and the VC unit is forced to flee into the jungle it needs to be hunted down.Also in the Binh Dinh province the 82nd Airborne with support from US 1st Infantry attack and destroy the VC 274th regiment.
In Kontum province the ARVN 22nd Division supported by the US 1st Infantry engage NVA units on the border who are driven back.The US 1st Aircav search and destroy the VC 301st Battalion in Tuyen Duc province

Turn 21 August 1966

III/IV Corps AO, In Tay Ninh province the US 1st Mech Bde and the ARVN 147 Marine Bde surround and destroy the VC 271st Regiment.The US 173rd Airborne Bde arrive in Bien Hoa province and encounter VC destroying the D2 Inf Batt.In the Delta reigon the ARVN 7th Division and Rangers destroy the VC 504 Battalion.In Vinh Long the ARVN 7th Division and Rangers from IV Ranger Group destroy the VC 203 Battalion.
In Chau Doc province ARVN Marines and Airborne units surround and destroy a VC Battalion
