I do those, btw, but I am concentrating on Legends until the final full edition comes out. So all I have are ground troops, I have Fed, Gorn, Klingon, Kzinti and Romulan, as well as some ones for the other races. My favorite is a swarm of giant cockroaches for bug races, I also used the warrior bug from Starship Troopers.

Here's the Z-1 modded into a ship you can use in the game. Not perfect but not bad either. I'm getting the hang of it... hey, what the heck, why is png not supported on here?

Here's a 'military' looking TOS Connie, I'll use it for the non-starship class cruisers, I always felt the Enterprise and select ships were special mods of the standard cruiser, designed for long range exploration and 'flag waving' at the borders, so I build a special long range sensor class which I call the 'starship' class. I'll post a 'whiter' version for the Enterprise, this one's the combat Connie.

He does GREAT work, but he often uses a LOT of shadowing, which is quite the annoyance to work with when doing the transparent background, I often have to go to individual pixel editing and do some mirror work by borrowing the same shape from the opposite side of the ship.

Here's a scout BOP that's a bit more detailed and realistic looking than the one in the TOS set, I think so, anyway. The wings look a bit off in the white, but look perfectly good in the blackness of space (he says in his best General Chang voice) with the shadowing.

And here's a FASA Romulan Winged Defender, which is a great heavy destroyer / light cruiser I like to outfit with the dreaded shield punching rail guns.

Kzin strike cruiser, aka Star Fleet Battles era, kit-bashed from the excellent kzin set that was already present in the STNG era mod set (thank you so much).
The Kzinti produced a small cruiser called the Strike Cruiser which was intermediate between the destroyer and cruiser. The large cruiser in the set is the Battlecruiser, produced later on.

This is by far the easiest way to create new ships.
Incidentally, theres this excellent ship creator for sci-fi games. It uses the same concept, bits and pieces of ships you put together, reminds me of those old felts kits they used to have when I was a kid. None of these inspired me enough to shell out the 6 bux they are asking, but maybe someone on here will like them and build a race...

A lot of the seasoned veterans of Distant Worlds are just waiting for Universe to come out.
There is no doubt these are excellent pictures... they are a little dark, but excellent.
I think once Universe comes out, you will see the old masters back at it...
I think Ed is busy testing the product; IGard is waiting for the Universe... and everyone else is popping in and out from time to time.

I figured as much, lol. Yes, I can't believe this game has been hidden from me for years, with me repeatedly typing in '4x space strategy game' ect ect.
Anyways, I'm really loving Legends, and am also waiting patiently for the final game release.
