RTB issue

Post by adek670 »

Guys,

I'm playing Down Town and am having issues with my strike missions going RTB as soon as they have taken off.

For info I set up two strike mission: package 1 on the bridges and Package 2 on the rail yard.

I assigned groups to each of the missions and checked that the planes were assigned. As soon as the took off the went automatically to (RTB) mission over (RTB)
and commenced landing procedures.

Im trying to like this game but im struggling with some stupid issues which defy my best efforts.

Info: latest 507 build, WIn 7 64 bit 8 gig ram and two 260 gtx in SLI.

Any help appreciated

I have had this problem in the past with some scenarios or
even some I have created myself , problems I had included
having too many planes in the strike package they could not
all get airborne quick enough , this is particularly bad with bombers
seems to take a age to get on mission .

Is this a known fault?

My next plan is to launch groups without a mission and then assign to strike once all in the air.

Also, does highlighting planes as escort actually do anything?

tried assigning planes once all airborne.

As soon as I assign the f4s to the strike package and select escort, they rtb - anybody know whats going on?

Hi, can you please provide _pre-problem_ (i.e not after the fact) save-files for each of these instances, so that we can investigate them?

Thanks.

Sunburn,

It a repeatable fault - just start Down Town, add a strike package and send up two groups - as soon as you edit the mission - adding bombers and then the f4s (as escorts ) they RTB!

Would be great if you could create a 'press play to reproduce' that we can attach to the bug report. Speeds things up for the guy who's gonna look at the issue later on [8D]

Thanks!

I was just fiddling with it, no problems launching 4 bombers and 4 escort fighters, they grouped up alongside each other and off they flew towards targets. Zip and attach a save and I'm sure the devs can quickly tell you why.

Hey Mike,

Now its working!!! - not sure what exactly was going on the other day.

Will play this one through a few times - changing when I set the missions and what planes are with what groups

Will upload once I've got it!

btw, should all planes take off when I select them for a mission?

In downtown, I set 4 f4s for a cap and only 2 take off the others show as being on cap1 but are don't set off.

Are they ready or did you have the 1/3 rule checked in in the mission settings?
