Auto-Dismounting Infantry

Post by AceDuceTrey »

I would sincerely appreciate the game designers modifying transported infantry actions to be more realistic.
First, if they successfully move mounted to a new location without incident they should immediately dismount
at the end of the move. This would represent maneuvering into an assault position.
Second, if they do run into an ambush, they would certainly dismount after the initial attack (while mounted)-
(rather than cower in their trucks while being repeatedly attacked by other units).
Third, all infantry automatically "herringbone" and dismount when attacker by air.
Forth, motorized infantry will automatically dismount when attacked by artillery. Only infantry in armored carriers
remain mounted during artillery attacks.

Really? With all the unrealistic elements of this childrens game of war, you find that to raise your ire? The game is not designed to be 'realistic' (Whatever the 'ell that means), but to give an hour or two of entertainment.

This is the second time I have been ridiculed for trying to suggest improvements to this game. Does everyone feel this game is a "toy for tots"? Iknow this game does not come close to measuring up to the Panzer Gereral II and III series, but correcting some of the obvious faults seems in order- or why else even have a forum for such a lame excuse for a "childrens game of war".[:@]

just cover your infantry when moving in trucks, or buy halftracks, it was like that in PG1 and nobody complained
