Clearing screen "ghosts"

Post by tom730_slith »

I don't know if anyone has experienced this, or if it has been brought up before. Sometimes my main screen will get partial images from a previous screen superimposed on the new screen. I have found that dragging the map over to my second monitor and then returning it clears this up.
Originally planned to use the second screen - a 32 inch HD - exclusively for the map, but as I've been playing have found one screen seems to work just fine. Except of course for "clearing" occasional "ghost" images from previous screen shots.
Hope this is helpful, assuming I'm not the only one to experience this issue! :)

You are not the only one. As it is a minor problem it will take a while before this is fixed, I am afraid. Scrolling helps as well.

I have seen this too. You can also click back and forth between two Map Views or minimize/maximize using the button on the Task Bar. Do not do this using the upper right control on the Detailed Map, though.

It is worse in the beta patch.

It's been around from the beginning and I agree that in most cases it's a fairly minor issue. The exception is when the game inexplicably reverts to a seeming random part of the map following an interception attempt or a declined interception, while the graphics on the screen still show the map as it was before the interception. When interception is declined (or fails) and ships continue to move, you may end up clicking on what you think is a friendly port, but in reality is a mtn hex somewhere in central asia. That's a more annoying issue than the random ghosts that are sometimes left on the screen either by map changes or naval moves.

Anecdotally I've noticed a slightly higher increase in this issue with the latest public beta as well, but on my end it's a fairly marginal difference (if it exists at all).

+1
I have proposed that this issue is taken on during the naval release, as it is such a dissatisfier after interception. I have had to reload quite a few times as I did not select a mtn hex in central asia but an useless sea area which accepted the naval stack.
