Airpower question.

Piercing Fortress Europa is a new game from veteran game designer Frank Hunter, which covers the campaigns of the Western Allies from July, 1943 through the end of April, 1945 in Sicily and Italy. Each area has its own map and time scale to best represent the campaigns for Sicily and Italy and the player is offered complete freedom, limited only by a historical order of battle and logistics model, to plan his operations and explore all of the many “what ifs” that the Italian theater has to offer.

Airpower question.

Post by stormbringer3 »

I've played the campaign game twice as the Allies and both times in northern Italy there is zero ground support even when the weather permits it. Is there a range for ground support? Am I doing something wrong? I do not leave a unit on Foggia if that makes a difference.
Thanks for your help.

Hi, it would save me a lot of time if you could send me a save game which I can load and see what might be the issue.

My email is fhunter@telus.net

Thanks!

Thanks for your response but unfortunately I have never sent a save game before and I don't know how to do that.

Well, all your saves will be in the "Saved Games" folder which is in the root folder for the game itself. So whatever turn it was where you experienced that will say "autosave (turn #).sgw"

If that helps?

Frank,
Thanks for your info. I'll be able to find a turn for you but I don't know how to send it to you. Sorry for being so PC illiterate.

Frank,
I think I figured out how to send a save. I sent one with attacks in Northern Italy, clear weather and zero ground support added although 24 were allocated.

Thanks stormbringer. I found the problem, your units were out of range of air support but that shouldn't be the case with your control of Foggia so I fixed it. It will also be in the next update.

I'm curious, does that bug affect the AI also?
Thanks.

stormbringer, yes it did. Allied players and Allied AI in north Italy would have been out of range of air support.
