update to windows 8.1 game will not start

hello,
I am German and my English is not good unfortunately. I hope you can help me. I have updated yesterday windows 8 on windows 8.1. now I can not start the game. I have uninstalled and reinstalled .... nothing ..... the console to start play goes on and when I press start to play, start the game no more, no error message, nothing. maybe they have an idea? many thanks for an answer

i played it all the way through on windows 8 then updated to 8.1 with no errors before i finished the game, used pro 64 bit mind you, there are a few errors been mentioned with the upgrade tbh, more than a few have failed or giving errors, non game related mind you, for me i'd do a clean install of windows and install the major update again as i bet it's not the only error you will see, then add all your programs and backups you have made, a pain i know, but i bet you will end up doing it anyway in the long run.....

try this is you don't want to reinstall the whole thing, back up first mind you, just incase.......

Run CMD as administator (Go to start screen, all apps, search CMD, right-click and select run as administrator)
Enter: dism /online /remove-package /packagename:Package_for_KB2919355~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.14
When step 2 has completed, enter: dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
Retry the update!

this will have nothing i'm betting to do with the game itself, just how windows update has been installed, something has gone a miss, that's why you get no errors, as i bet there isn't a CTD or anything else you can find, try the log files?

to check your system files use the inbuilt windows system file checking program call SFC

it will check and replace missing windows files and is a MS product and is also 100% safe, don't take my work for it, read the info at M/S if your not sure.....

when it works it's great, when it doesn't, windoes goes to windoesn't i'm afraid to say
