Shared sound wav files

Piercing Fortress Europa is a new game from veteran game designer Frank Hunter, which covers the campaigns of the Western Allies from July, 1943 through the end of April, 1945 in Sicily and Italy. Each area has its own map and time scale to best represent the campaigns for Sicily and Italy and the player is offered complete freedom, limited only by a historical order of battle and logistics model, to plan his operations and explore all of the many “what ifs” that the Italian theater has to offer.

Shared sound wav files

Post by bott.2 »

Could each game feature be programmed to have it’s own sound wav file? Some of the sound wav files are shared in the game. For example, the Display Past Messages and the Overall Status share the typewriter wav file and the Reinforcement Menu and the Work Ports share the paper rustle wav file. Maybe this this be added in a later version?

Yes they certainly could be set up to have separate sound files. I assume you're replacing the current files with your own?

Yes,I have gone online and have found different sounds that I think fit the game better for me. I think it is a unique selling point to be able to personalize sounds for games.

I think including multiple alternating wav files for the execution phase was a great idea and should be kept. Increasing the number of these file options would be good. It reduces the monotony of hearing the same sounds over and over during the phase.
