[SCENARIO REQUIRES DEEP REBUILD] V104 B536 Av-8 cannot fire Amraam

Post by steelp »

Av-8 will not fire due to "datalink not available". Save and screen shot submitted. Repeatable.

The scenario was 'rebuilt' with the latest database, but not 'deep rebuilt'. This means that 'shallow' items like weapons, sensors, etc, were updated with stats from the database, but deeper items like adding/removing unit components (sensors/mounts/datalinks) were not touched. Deep-rebuilding the scenario will add the missing datalink to the aircraft.

Before doing a Deep Rebuild, make sure to export a SBR Delta file with custom weapon/sensor mods so that you can load the aviation mags that will be wiped in the Deep Rebuild. Then, in the Rebuild scenario window, click the Apply INI check box in addition to the Deep Rebuild check box.

Thanks for the help. I did change (update) database and was trying not to change a few 'mods'. Can you reverse the database - bring it back to its previous state without much problem?

I think its more than just changing the db. I have yet to see that work. I have had to do either a simple rebuild or a deep rebuild.

Yes. If you look in the scenario directory you should see a file called scenarioname.OLD. This is a copy of your old scenario. Just replace the OLD extension with .scen.

You can actually get changes by using an ini file. Check out the manual section on that. You just build out the file with your changes and then apply it during rebuild.

Thanks!
