Invading Utopia

I've been wondering... if I invade Utopia, will the Shakturi still show up? Do the events still happen even if the Ancient Guardians aren't around to warn me/ally with me?

I think yes since the Shakturi event isn't linked to the Ancient Guardians, but to a ruin.

Getting Utopia made me wonder about the special ruins for the Shakturi.

I've explored 100% of the galaxy, but I haven't found the ruins anywhere... I'd like to get the way of darkness government type, and I remember finding the ruins in one game before the Shakturi actually showed up.

Does the ruin only appear sometimes, or am I missing something important?-

I've played 3 games now and always win before the story line unfolds.
I set victory conditions way up and had the entire tech tree researched while set to expensive. Bah on them.

You should try playing Sandbox mode. Also if you REALLY are teching to fast even on expensive jack the research costs up to maximum. It'll take 4OO years to research everything provided you don't pay for boosts or trade/buy tech/build 5OOO research stations.
