Bug in galaxy creation

Post by Osito »

I have previously reported on certain bugs in the game editor here:

tm.asp?m=3625234

and I have now observed that the red supergiant bug seems also to be occurring when the game generates a galaxy. I am uploading a save game called "See supergiant Maxus in sector C,11.dwg" in which there are three red supergiants with a size above the 193.0k limit. If you open any of these in the game editor you will get an unhandled exception. Whether this might cause a crash when playing a game, I am not sure. Note that this save game was not edited at all by me (except to the extent that I opened the editor to check the star sizes).

Note in the save game the other two oversized red supergiants are WO936 in O,9 and Kanes Junction in H,2.

The same problem happens when adding red supergiants in the game editor. Frequently, the suprgiant will be too large and you get an unhandled exception if you try to edit it.

One final point on supernovas. When I click on supernovas in game, I get a yellow main sequence star showing in the bottom left selection box. Furthermore, all the supernovas I edit into the game are tiny little dots with no proper supernova graphic. I am unable to edit in supernovas that look like the ones the game is creating.

Thanks,

Osito

Hi Osito

The star size crash has been fixed in the next update (1.9.5.3).

We'll fix the supernova graphics in a future update.

Thanks
Elliot
