Is this intended?

In my recent Pirate game i ordered the construction of several frigates, added them to my fleet and then ordered my fleet to move to destroy a spaceport that was being constructed. I noticed a few minutes later after the port had been destroyed that the ships i had ordered left the construction yards less than half finished to join the battle. There was literally barely completed portions of ships with engine exhaust trails behind them. The engines of course were not connected to the ship at all.

I don't have a screen shot, but an example would be...

I was under the impression that a ship couldn't leave port until it was 1OO% completed. At least..this is how it was when i played during Legends.

Unless you gave the fleet an order after ordering the additional ships, they shouldn't leave the port of origin without all components and a full fuel cell to the best of my knowledge.

While i did put in the order before moving the fleet, the ships in question had zero fuel/zero energy. It was as if they had teleported to the fleet.

Yeah can't explain that one - Unless of course enough time passed that it could slog its way to the rest of the fleet on an empty tank. They never really run out - just run at a very reduced speed.

Yeah and it takes forever , played a game once where one of my Heavy Cruisers i named after a friend strayed from the fleet somehow and ended up halfway across the galaxy beyond a hostile empire. When i finally realized where it had gone it was out of fuel and had obsolete engines. It made it back. But the journey was epic, i've considered writing a novel about it....

Thanks for that report. Ships should not be leaving the construction yard until completed, even when part of a fleet.

We'll look into this.
