Take over Stations

Can you take over mining stations and the like?
Do you use troop module or assault pod for that?

You can capture them (and ships) by using boarding pods.

Boarding pods or whatever they are called have strength. Defensive targets have strength too. Having boarding pods helps, having many habitation modules help, and possibly troop containers. I have never studied it, but when capturing, the selection panels shows the boarding attack/defense strengths.
