Air to Air Pilot Loss Statement

Post by Platon »

Barbarossa Scenario. In this Air to Air Combat the Die Roll Effects for the Allied roll is shown as DX PX in contradiction to the Air to Air Combat Results Table which shows DX PF for a roll of 17 at -2.
Despite that the next line states that the pilot survived if shot down over friendly territory. I cannot tell what's the truth as I couldn't remember how much German pilots where in the reserve pool before this combat. No file available because saving is not possible in this status.

And it is also my belief that there has to be CAP for the active player during Ground Support.

Was the combat over a friendly hex? The program figures out whether it is or not and then determines if the pilot survives or not. So on the table the result is a PF, but the program will either report the pilot dead (PX) or not (no mention of the pilot at all if I remember correctly).

I am not sure about that anymore but it seems a plausible explanation. I shall keep an eye on possible further occurences.
