How to easily screw up your sandbox game...:)

Post by Sardaukar »

Hi,

One of the easiest ways is research rocket that is not capable to lift your payload... I managed this 3 times in my recent games. [:D]

So, always double-check that your researches are compatible. Maybe there should be easy way to warn player about this. E.g. when you start research, message like "You don't have rocket capable of lifting this payload researched or under research. Proceed Y/N ?". Meaning that game should check that.

Just my 10 agorot/ 2c for now. [8D]

Hello Sardaukar,

Yes, makes sense. We'll add a mechanism to warn the player. Notice that if you don't have any opened rocket programs and you click on the question mark button in the mission configuration screen (the one featuring the portrait of either von Braun, Korolev or Aldrin, depending on the space agency), the game will ask you if you want to be redirected to the "Open Rocket Program" screen and will only allow you to pick those rockets capable of lifting the payload.

But yes, an extra check like the one you say cannot hurt either [:)]. We'll add it to the backlog.

Cheers,

True but the biggest thing that I have found that will kill you is
expanding buildings too fast, hiring too many staff and training them up too fast, and having too many programs open (they all cost money to maintain). Always close programs and rockets that you aren't using and remember to grow slowly at first and watch that budget number and always keep it green + until you have a nice amount in the account.
