Pirated copy

Post by mike1984 »

I get a warning that I or my opponent may be playing with a pirated copy. This was in a PBEM game with myself--I'm testing a scenario.

I'm definitely playing with a purchased copy. Is it just a bug?

Not really perhaps. Are you using the same version of the sofware on two different machines with the same serial number? As far as I can remember the license for a single purchase is to use it on one machine.Perhaps even if it's installed on the same machine and you use the PBEM mode, the automatic assumption is still that there are two users of the same copy which is not entirely along the license lines. Then yes it may be deemed a bug like it used to be with the anti-cheat mechanism which generated randomized reload warning messages to my own best experience.

Got it. Yes, I've installed it on a few of my computers, as I'm sure many players have. I kind of figured it was like that, but wanted to make sure.

Thanks!
