Paratroops

Post by dhucul2011 »

Whenever I pickup up a paratroop the unit flashes on and off. This continues whenever I select it afterwards to attack etc.

Has anyone else seen this?

I have as well, but only when I've dropped them into an occupied hex. It's probably meant to serve as a reminder that you have committed paratroops, and that you need to add more units to the attack, or the paras may die if left to attack on their own. It might also occur with unoccupied hexes, but I don't think so. I'd have to pay attention to that next time I use them on an unoccupied hex.

A clever interpretation [:)]- but it is just bad code that causes the flashing unit.[:(]

I am pretty sure it has to do with calculating supply for the notional unit in the hex under the cursor, when the paratroop unit is "in hand". Every time you move the paratroop unit over a hex, the program refreshes the Main form's attack odds for if the paradrop were made in the hex.
