AI Submarine Tactics

Post by vettim89 »

I am working on a North Atlantic convoy scenario set in 1988. Is there a way to make my Sov subs not be such dufuses? They tend to drift along at -40m and don't react to active sonobuoys or ship contacts. Are there some settings I can use to make them a little more interested in self preservation?

Additional issue has arisen. This is a very long scenario (> 5 days) and I have found AI controlled SS do not recharge their batteries on their own. Is there a way to make them do so other than setting base depth to -20m?

The AI really needs some beefing up for submarines. In another Simulation I have played (the one that shall not be named), subs would automatically go to max speed and change depth when a torpedo was detected. Is that because I have clicked manual instead or auto speed and depth (that thought just occurred to me, DOH! )
