Freezes during tutorial after activation of No-Nav Zone

From the save file:
1) Deactivate mission BARCAP
2) Activate missions Strike Sa-*
3) Select reference points for bombing range and create a No-Nav zone.

Sim grinds to halt and then errors out a couple minutes later.

It also happened when No-Nav zone was created prior to mission activation. When running without the No-Nav zone, the escort fighters continue into the target area and strafe the target, to their doom. I am trying to avoid this doom, which I thought the "Escort" role would guarantee instead.

Speaking of Escorts, when "Make Selected Escort" is pressed in the mission editor, it adds additional [Escort] strings to the left of the escort platform. Should it only happen once?
