[0.7.24.2] Bug in short-term objectives?

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it's intended to be this way and I'm misunderstanding what to do. When I get the Economist II objectives, I'm asked to keep the funds over $8000. I understand I have to keep that money at the deadline date but when I pass the first turn after getting that objective I suceed in the mission. It's a bug or it's correct?
