Executable Error

Hello.

In my game with Adm Nelson, I have been getting turn crashes (Executable Error) periodically (roughly every two weeks of game time). Lew slightly modifies the turn and then it RUNS. Last Thursday he sent me the 1-27-42 turn and it start the load process before crashing with the Executable Error. Thinking the problem is on my side, I just got done with an all-new install (taking about an hour of time) and the turn then did the SAME THING.

Can the problem be on his side of the turn? With the new install done, I am out of ideas...

Is there an error code when it crashes?

Are you running beta? Or last official?

I am on the Beta, extended map, gnarly roads...EVERYTHING...and I do not get a code. It simply reduces and comes up Executable Error.

Attach the save that was causing the crash and I'll see if I can reproduce on my PC

Good luck John. I had something similar late last year. After a few days of looking, My nephew discovered a bug. It was slowly disabling the exe files of a number of programs. Finnally had to reinstall the whole system....GP

I am willing to bet there is some sort of bug/virus in the system. My thought is that it is on Lew's end. Why would the same thing happen with a full new install?

Virus. My nephew believes it came in on a email from one of the jobs I was looking at because the problems began right after I opened it. I scan everything I receive now....GP

I hope not. Just in case, do a complete system scan with your anti virus software. If its on your opponents system, most likely it has invaded your system as well and a restore of just the game files may not fix it....GP

I suppose it could be a corrupt file on your opponents end. If he continues to send the same corrupt file, you will continue to get the same issue....GP
