Having fun so far...auto pursuit got me!

In the age of Pike and Shot, mighty struggles erupted across Europe for causes religious, political or dynastic. The Thirty Years War raged across Germany and beyond, leaving devastation in its wake, but saw the rise of great commanders such as Count Tilly, Wallenstein and King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, and rapid developments in battlefield tactics.

Having fun so far...auto pursuit got me!

Post by jack54 »

I'm only 2 tutorials into the game but have to admit that the auto pursuit feature has me hooked.

An attacking unit that routs an enemy will get excited and pursue the routed unit sometimes off the battlefield. The player loses control of the attacking unit. Units that leave the field can return later...a nice touch IMHO.

2 things

1-it would be nice to have an icon over a unit you no longer control, maybe I missed it but I only notice this on the tool tip.
2-mini map is very small.

Otherwise I'm enjoying the game so far! THANKS!

Once you are familiar with the game, give multiplayer a try. It's easy--the transfer of files is automated--and you'll find even more of a challenge than the AI gives, altho the AI is no slouch either!

Had fun with the tutorials, like the idea of units chasing and being chased off the map. Haven't played with the editor yet, it will certainly be nice to add other batttles like Justice Mills (aka The Fecht Of Aberdeen). Need to dust off the Osprey books and find out! [8D]

You can toggle on a large version using the J hotkey.
