Targeting CV

Hi,

I have a serious problem getting my CVP to target the enemy CV. I'm playing Scen 17 as Allied and I have a CV TF chasing the (very) slightly damaged Zuiho and Akagi between Rabaul and Truk. Unfortunately, there are many other TFs in the area (including the same hex). My CVPs launch the first strike against his CV, then target other TFs (especially a DD TF which I have been hitting 4 times in 2 days ). Needless to say my opponent does not have such a targeting issue.

Do you have an idea on how to force my CVP to target the enemy CV? (especially before my luck runs out and I get a 18in across my bow)

Carrier air ops are an inexact science.

As the targeted TF gets smaller, its gets harder to find.

And an air strike commander would usually attack the first enemy ships he comes across.

Exact navigation and precision strikes were not the norm. They navigated the best they could and hit the first targets available.

That was much better than passing up a target, not finding the primary, and then dumping the bomb/torpedo before landing.
