Win, Draw or Defeat?

In the age of Pike and Shot, mighty struggles erupted across Europe for causes religious, political or dynastic. The Thirty Years War raged across Germany and beyond, leaving devastation in its wake, but saw the rise of great commanders such as Count Tilly, Wallenstein and King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, and rapid developments in battlefield tactics.

Win, Draw or Defeat?

Post by Hoplomachia »

Just had an ECW Skirmish with about 7000 troops on each side.

The Royalists had 45% routed units and almost twice as many killed as the Parliamentarians.

The Parliamentarians has 35% routed units.

End screen said my Parliamentarians was defeated.

Why was this not a Draw?

I am guessing because the time limit was reached as those rout levels would not be sufficient to end the game.

In SP mode you have to defeat the enemy by the time limit in an open battle, or you are deemed to have lost.

Otherwise it is too easy to hang back until the AI attacks at a disadvantage - which it will do after a certain number of turns if you have not attacked it. That may give you a positional advantage, but insufficient time left to achieve victory.

This is working as intended.
