Crocodile flamer kills tanks so easily :( Why??

Close Combat: Gateway to Caen is the latest release in the critically-acclaimed Close Combat series and focuses on the largest, concentrated British offensive since the Normandy landings in an attempt to penetrate the German lines west of Caen and cross the Odon River to get the stalled advance moving again.

Crocodile flamer kills tanks so easily :( Why??

Post by PztCrackwise »

I am really fed up with crocodile being so f***g overpowered in this game. Why is it like that? It one shots tanks (e.g. Pz4 and Panther) with its flamer with almost 100% certainty.

Is this thing realistic? I doubt a Panther can be KOd with a flamer like that. Everytime this happens I just wanna burn down this bloody game lol.

IMO, its not realistic.
in a tank to tank fight a croc VS anything would be at a disadvantage because of the damn fuel trailer. its a bomb waiting to go off. what ive read about crocks is there slow and unwieldly beacause of the trailer. a large percentage of the time the croc was used as a churchill with out the trailer because of the time to hook it up and or refuel it.

im pretty sure the flame would not destroy a tank in most cases.....it would how ever make the crew of the attacked tank PANIC and bail out. fire scares the shit out of people. this may be reflected in the game as a destroyed tank????? [&:]

croc's are used wrong in CC because we can.
in real life they would be deployed in most cases as an inf support vehicle to burn out pill boxes and houses and strong points.. not take on other tanks.

but im going to agree with you herr pztcrackwise, they appear to be super tanks in GWTC. [ something to counter those damn CATS?? ]

Hi Stiener, I also agree the flame should wound the crew most of the time instead of an instaneous explosion. Actually, Crocs are immortal against Pz IVs in this game and can take them out easily with their cannon as well. They are hurtable by Tigers, and their armor can be penetrated by the Tigers' 88 most of the time. They have normally no chance against Panthers on head to head, if the Panther keeps its distance.

But the problem in my case was that I had to use the Panther somewhat close to the enemy tank since the map involved patches of bocages. And when my Panther and the Croc faced each other the Panther, thanks to the *very fun* game engine developers claim to have made, missed the Croc with its first shot in 150 meters. Whereas the Croc flamer cannot miss, and roasts the poor Panther with one flamer shot.

Considering the flame can reach almost a third across the battlefield makes it difficult to avoid on most maps. Perhaps in the game, the Crocodile should have the tow the fuel trailer around with it. This would limit its mobility somewhat, and make their actions somewhat more predictable.
