Hate to say this but I'm glad to see someone else is experiencing the joy of the ftp login.
I currently can't dl'd anything from the members section.
If I try to use accelerator get a"site disconnected at beginning" message.
If I disable accelerator get told file could not be downloaded.
Then the ftp login start's.
what I really like is your given the option to log on anonymously nothing happens.
Oh and I tried it with av disabled,same problems.

I have had this problem many times before when trying to download beta patches from Matrixgames. Try the following:

1. Close your browser
2. If you are using an external file download software (i.e. Internet Download Manager, etc) disassociate it from your browser
3. Close the software
4. Start task manager and close any programs associated with it
5. Delete any partial downloads and clean you browsers cache
6. Then reopen your browser and try and download it.

or if using an internal addon on the browser, disable the addon before closing the browser and try steps 5 and 6.

Or use a different browser i.e IE, Chrome, Cyberfox, Firefox, Opera, etc.

It is an exercises in trail and error and it may take several attempts including rebooting of the computer.

1) Don't use the Internet Exploder - well known to have all sorts of problems and very much liked by malware devs.
2) As far as I can see the download link shown already contains an autogenerated FTP password. It changes everytime you reload the registered WitE download page.

I never had problems to get those updates, just using plain Firefox without fancy download addons

I agree. Also, maybe try right clicking the file and "saving as" to the desktop without the download manager.
