Effects of Air HQs and their command range

Post by margeorg »

Hello,

please correct me if I´m wrong: I know that Air HQs have some effects on air groups, such as attack coordination, ability to upgrade, supply of torpedoes etc. AS far as I also know, they project these abilities at least to the range of their command radius to other bases within range.

Now here comes my question: Does the Air HQ itself need to be located at a base in order work, or is it possible to place the HQ somewhere in between bases, to maximize the range of its effects?
Cheers

Why would you do that though?

Air HQs have bags of air support that you certainly need, especially if you play the Japanese

No they don't but you lose their air support and they suffer adverse climatic effects to morale. E.g Malaria. Overall not a good idea.
