Division Upgrades

If I play with the East Front box on and, say for example, I bring the Leibstandarte and/or Das Reich SS Panzer Grenadier divisions back west in 1943 and keep them there for the duration of the war, do they upgrade to Panzer divisions automatically or do they still, as in WitE, have to be withdrawn for a period and come back several weeks/months later.

They will upgrade to SS Panzer divisions, something that can happen as early as October 43.
