Air Mvmt Between Theaters

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Is there a way to move your air units to UK and NA like there is naval units?

You just use the transfer air unit button.

select the air base in england

select units

select air base in med.

all done

reverse works as well

be sure to re do the hq so they match the local one

OK even with short range fighters? Seems I tried and they wouldn't go. Maybe my mistake.

It is possible that some fighters may not have the range to transfer. In which case you will not be able to transfer unless they are still in the National Reserve from arrival. Once they have been committed to an airbase you have to fly a transfer mission.

make sure they have not moved at all that turn. To increase your chances get them as close as you can to the other theatre. Corsica/Sardinia

From 5.3.12 in the manual:

The air group unit must
have enough miles travelled remaining in order to
be eligible to transfer. If a unit has not flown at all
during the turn, then it may transfer to any friendly
base regardless of distance. This may max out the air
group’s miles so it will be unable to do anything else
during the current turn.
All understanding comes after the fact.
