AD only chooses fighters to ground attack

Post by jnpoint »

I have discovered that my automatic AD only chooses Fighter Bombers to be fighters in ground attack. So I think I will change some of those to Bombers, but then there is writes "Bomber*" with a star behind the type - what does it mean? and is it a good idea to change some of the planes from fighter to bomber? I do not know why the AI chooses only 'fighter' to ground attack on units.

I don't get it. I changed a half of the planes to bombers, but I did not hit a single ground unit - again! - that's why I was checking it. It seems to be useless to attack the ground units form the air, I only looses a lot of planes. The weather is excellent and I attack in daytime. Altitude is 15000 (did the AI choose) and the intensity is high. Is it just so or should I change something?

You need to check the mission role as well as the traning. The training is bottom left of the unit page, the role is top left. You can end up with units trained as bombers but flying in a fighter role (worst of all worlds!)
I have a cunning plan, My Lord
