Suggestion for Newbies and a question.

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Suggestion for Newbies and a question.

Post by ncarson »

I'm struggling with learning this game but having a good time anyhow!

I have a suggestion (for Newbies) and a question:

1)Suggestion: Once you have mastered the fundamentals of op Husky (ie, learned to move units, etc), go to the EDITOR, load Husky, save it to a different name (of course) and then remove the "targeting" data for amphibs, airdrops etc. This is easily done from the menu on the right side of the screen. When you next play the game (your scen), none of the targets will be selected, and you have to choose amphib landing, air ops, and air directives all yourself. A great way to add challenges that will help you learn, while not adding so much complexity that you don't learn.

2)Question: While implementing my own suggestion, I transferred some anti tank units to one of the infantry units, and I think it made them too big to get on the ships. Transferring was easy (just clicked on add support groups), but how to I undo that? I've not "run" anything since making the transfer. I can't figure how to undo that click!

Have fun!
