Interdiction

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Interdiction

Post by morganbj »

I just can't seem to get ground interdiction values over 1 or 2. If I put a load of FB's in a single hex, I can sometimes get an 8, but I can't come close to getting the 8's and 9's I see in the ARRs for three or four hexes from the front.

And yes, I make sure they have high morale, that all the FB's are "bombers" my mission and training, and that they are full of pilots and planes. I can't seem to keep the Germans from forming a solid front after an invasion and attacking at or near full strength.

What am I doing wrong?

My first guess would be that when your flying land interdiction your not using enough AD's over the area. When I want to lock something down, I'll use several AD's to saturate the area and you can get those numbers. Don't forget you can use your strategic bombers for ground attacks, especially for interdiction. Overlap several air HQ's AD's over that area and you should see some better results. Without knowing how you have your air set up, that's my best suggestion.

Check your loadouts, smaller bombs are better for interdiction.
