Basic unit creation?

Post by soapsuds »

Having trouble understanding the process creating new units. Create "new unit" button and blank unit appears but no type? How does one enter a unit type? Also in production window...a little confused regarding how a rifleman (for example) is produced, time lines involved and how increase/decrease points affect speed etc. Clarification most appreciated.

There are no unit types if you place infantry type's in your unit then it is a infantry unit.
You can mix Armor and infantry to make a armored unit, or just pure armor or pure Infantry. Its the content that determines unit type.
All production is on a months cycle (Or whatever the length of time the turn is set for) if you set the production in a city or factory the production shown is what you will receive next turn.
Don't forget you must link the city or factory to a HQ where your production will arrive, if you do not link the production will simply be stored.

The speed of a unit is determined by a unit types in the unit, the unit moving at the slowest unit speed eg: If a armored type is in the same unit with a large group of infantry the unit moves at the slowest rate being the Infantry.

The exception is the carry capacity of some units a truck say has a carry capacity of 20 so it can carry 20 infantry so the unit with 20 infantry and one truck moves at the rate of the truck.
If the unit exceeds the carry capacity of units like trucks tanks and Horses it will move at the slowest type movement rate.

For carry stats of unit types plus combat information and other information, right click on the unit type.

Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?
