Supply Hubs and CS TFs
I'm not a newbie but I don't get to spend a lot of time playing. I sneak in some time when I can.
Is there way to set up supply hubs for different areas of the map?
For instance, if I set up a CS TF for supply to Sydney from Pearl Harbor. Can I then set up a TF to computer control and let them supply the bases as needed? Or, do I have to manually set up CS TF's for each base I want supplied?

RE: Supply Hubs and CS TFs
You will need to manually set each CS TF. You can get really nitty-gritty on planning them, however - by looking at cruise speeds and distances (using your waypoints!) you can determine how long it will take each convoy to make a round trip. You can then plan accordingly for expenditures vs. incoming supplies.
I tend to not use CS convoys except between CONUS or off-map bases and main, back area hubs. Such as Pearl.
Just make sure that you keep an eye out for enemy subs, and that you use escorts to drive them off. Nothing worse than having a laden xAK or xAP get nailed on the surface.

Ok. Thank you Loaksenna!

Here's another question. How do you keep track of all your TFs? Do you use an external spreadsheet or just the lists in the game? I find that it can be cumbersome to manage them with the original.
I have thought about building a sheet but I talk myself out of it due to lack of time.

I don't really keep track of them - I just trust that they're running. When setting them up, I'll do simple lists/math on a piece of scratch paper, but I haven't felt the need to do that in a long time.
However, you can use Tracker if you want something simple to look at them. I often bring up the TF list in-game also, and sort by whatever (destination, troops, mission, etc).

RE: Supply Hubs and CS TFs
You can also use the TF ships button located on top bar to see how may CS convoys are running to which location. Top line gives u ability to choose the type of tf. Hit the destination tab. All the destinations appear in alphabetical order so u can get a quick read on what is currently shipping.ORIGINAL: Lokasenna

+1 on the first part as I don't use tracker.
Once they are set up and running all that is necessary is to check occasionally to see what damage has accumulated and when a ship may need to drop out for repairs, or later to replace the entire TF and stand it down for upgrades.
If you are checking the status of the hubs they are supplying every day and setting up TFs from them to supply forward bases, you will also be monitoring their coming and going.

RE: Supply Hubs and CS TFs
as Allies, I don't use CS convoys, their main inconvenience is that you cannot set them to "Do not refuel".
I also check daily the main ports (SFran, LA, SD, PH, Suva, Brisbane, Sydney) and set or maintain TFs based on the ships available

Something I use to help me remember what a TF is up to is to name it. On the TF screen you can click the upper left and give the TF some kind of name to remind you what its doing. You know like 'supply xxx' or 'resource pick up at xxx'. BTW I don't use CS convoys very often. Mostly for short resource runs in the NRA (up to now I've only played as Japan, hope to get to the Allies soon though).
Edit:for spelling.

How do you move and keep track of your convoys?

+1.
I do hubs and such all the time. Needs a watchful eye though. Also naming the TF's as to there route and/or TF number from that location also helps. IE; TF 1/Tahiti/Canton, TF 2/Tahiti/Pago, etc....GP

RE: Supply Hubs and CS TFs
I've read some buzz on these threads that CS Convoys always try for a 'Full Refuel', regardless of their settings.
2 add'l thoughts:
- Always size your convoys' tonnage to conform to the allowable tonnage at their destination base, unless they're in AmphibTFs.
- Convoys don't auto-dock at small ports (size 3 or smaller?). You've really should keep a close eye on your small supply TFs, whether they are Manual or CS, to get best performance.

I just tried a quick run of a convoy set to no refuel. It didn't refuel. Hans Bolter said something similar in a previous post.ORIGINAL: jmalter

What you can do is set waypoints with a refuel option, and the TF will refuel at the waypoints as instructed, with the 'no refuel' command still being obeyed at destination and origin.ORIGINAL: Disco Duck
