Creating Silhouettes

I'm in a bind, I can't get this in the size I need for the silhouette. Can someone explain to me again on how to do it. When I do it, it looks squash.

I want to do it without having to ask someone else to do it for me [:)]

Right now the size of this screenshot is 542x273.

Open with gimp.
Change to grayscale.
Use Threshold tool.
