One question about the BF map editor

Post by Nomada_Firefox »

I would like know one simple question about the map editor. Can it export a bmp or other image format from the terrain seen from a top view?

this is my oldest curious question but never I asked about it.

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: The map editor has a default appearance. For those who want to create a custom look for their maps, you can also create your own texture to go over the top of the ground. To assist in this you can create the base map in the TBF map editor, then export an image of the map ground surface, as seen from a top-down perspective, along with a separate image that is just the objects placed on the ground. You can then take these images into photoshop (or whatever editor) and use it as layers to draw your own custom map texture.

I see and it is a good answer but my point was if you can export a top view image and perhaps after it, you can use it for a map at one of your previous Close Combat games.

After read your answer, if the image of the map ground surface has a good size, I do not see it impossible.
