Well, that explains the "Transport unavailable message"! I've gone back and re-done the scrapping.

I thought that the pilot, in this case, would be placed in the reserve pool. But with that said I have no idea what the rules have to say about it.Yep. I think I got a similar message over some rubbish Soviet plane I decided to dispense with the services of. I'll go back and look. Not for the plane but the pilot it comes with.

You can scrap units during every build step so there is no need to have units you do not want lurking in the force pool.
