More Questions

Post by bigwins »

I appreciate the help I've received in regards to previous posts. Thanks.

Questions.

1] Regarding convoys: I gather to rearrange convoys once the game starts you need to send them to a port during the Return to Base Phase. Then move them back into sea areas during the following turn. I can't seem to move them (if in a sea box)during naval movement, even if I take them of sentry.

2] I am having problems with the pools form. I can not get the form to show future units. I click on filters for an upcoming year and units(the form seems to be pretty simple}, and get nothing. I'VE tried all the pools, force, construction, etc. I don't see a pool for "future" listed. What am I missing?

3] House rules: I haven't played enough to know if this even needs to be thought of but has anyone ever played with house rules regarding (per turn or accumulative) limitations on ground unit construction due to manpower availability. For instance as the war progressed Germany was suffering from manpower shortages. Or forced removal of units destroyed while isolated?

Thanks again

1. During naval movement, you have to right click on the convoy and put it off sentry. Than you can move them backinto port.

2. Don't know. Perhaps there is a bug there.

3. No, I haven't played with such a rule. But you can always house rule this, using the scrap optional rule and scrap any unit you like after it has been destroyed.

On the pools form (cntl-Q) select "Force pool". On the right of the screen there will be a scrollable list of countries. Underneath that list there is a box labeled "Show build ahead force pool". If that box is not checked, you will not see any units that are from future years. (If it is checked, you won't see any units from the current or previous years.)
I thought I knew how to play this game....

#2: You can use the Units form (Ctrl-U) and its filters to see all the units. There are check boxes for years. The filters are quite powerful for 'seeing' specific unit types - such as carriers, HQs, and Armor.

There was a manpower rule in one of the Annuals, I believe.

Owner choice to remove isolated units was a very popular house rule. So popular, in fact, that it is in the draft of RAW8.

The first can be implemented in MWiF manually. The second - not.

Yes, I have played with it, a friend in the group insisted. It's weird, time consuming, easy for mistakes, ... Not worth it in the game, could be considered in a computer game, for at least the last two matters would be solved.
