Recon

Post by MikeMark »

I'm about 3/4 way through the manual, and I'm pretty dazed and confused.

When you send a plane to recon an enemy base, where do you find the results of the recon mission?

Do you just click on an enemy base the next orders turn, and the results will show then?

Yes, just hover the mouse over the hex (and move it over the ground unit symbol also) and you will see information revealed over time. Experiment with altitudes and commitment to get a better handle on the system.

The more missions the better the results.

At first you might get just a list of units (INF,ENG, AA, etc) but over time you will get troop numbers and gun numbers as well as damage to runways and airfields.

It is a very useful tool.

Don't be sorry. It's my biggest remaining b*tch (except my former mother-in-law).

Hey Batch, I see you are working hard today.

Seriously this was supposed to be in 2.0, and recon did produce spotty port results. However, haven't seen anything in port since 2.10. Something fixed then broken?

I didn't know that you couldn't get info on ships, you mean if there are a couple of carriers in a port your recon doesn't report that?

Amazingly enough. BTW, I think recon photos ought to show both ships disbanded in port and others still formed up in TFs and just "docked" (a distinction that has never made any sense to me since the first days of Pacific War).
