Can you keep fighters/bombers from auto-launching?

Post by Chaostheory509 »

Hey guys! New to the forum and kinda a noob at Distant Worlds Universe. I was wondering if there was any way to keep fighters that are on starbases or starports from auto-launching. I click the recall button and they all fly back in but immediately fly back out. This is so frustrating because I cant stand them swarming around my capital planet by the hundreds and they don't seem to upgrade for me (even though I have the auto upgrade fighters option checked in the policies screen.) I've looked through all the options and have looked all over the internet but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ahead of time! [:D]

I am not aware of any such option. If you don't like having fighters swarming around your stations, I can only suggest removing fighters from your station designs and making do with some other long-ranged weapon instead. Missiles and torpedoes are more than likely sufficient in the unmodded game; I don't think that any of the standard carrier designs are set up to sit back out of range of all weapons and just let fighter swarms wear down the target, and I can't recall the computer ever making terribly heavy use of carriers anyways.
