New units in 1.07 (preview)

Germany At War: Operation Barbarossa 1941 is an elegant turn-based design, inspired by classics such as Panzer General, but with more of a historical focus. You command the German forces through a branching historical campaign covering the entire 1941 campaign as well as part of the 1942 campaign. Dozens of scenarios stretch from the Soviet border all the way to Archangel and towards Astrakhan, the original military goals of Operation Barbarossa. Step into a wargame where your performance will rewrite history, through an addictive combination of compelling gameplay, realistic events and challenging battles.

the small images are taken from the HQ screen of Germany at War. The units are rendered by the game engine into what is called a UnitButton so what you see are the same 3d models you see on the map, just in an angle you cannot choose.

Hi,

a much more graspable answer is the image below. It shows the new hill and mountain textures in summer scenarios, two mechcorps, the German combat engineers and an Elite Panzergrenadier unit.

Hi guys,

here is a new screenshot with the new Panzergrenadier units of v1.07 at the battle of Kursk (Zitadelle, southern sector) which is fought with historical OoB. Also you can see that tooltips now contain symbols to minimize texts for a better learning curve.

Now this is VERY cool! I love the support your team provides of this great game!!!

Thank you [&o]

Hi guys,

here is a new wip screenshot. You see rescaled % partly reworked German infantry with officers for the regular and elite units. All have unique compositions of soldiers (mgs, handgranates etc.) for more variety. Mountains also got some tweaks.

Merci beaucoup !

For both your compliments and the link of your review. We did not know about this article and we are always interested in them, so if there is another author who wrote something about Germany at War, don't be shy and send us a link :-)

My French is what you might call rudimentary so it will take some time for me to understand every part. I tried translators but then many passages don't make real sense.

You're welcome ! :o)

Sorry I should have mention the review was written in French ;o)
My bad I also forgot to inform Matrix we published this review back in 2014 ! I'm not quite sure my English is superior to any translator available online but I tried to translate the resumé to give you an overview about the general tone of this article. So here it is :

If you are looking for a game stopgap, quick parties of about 30 minutes, then Panzer Corps should better suit your expectations. However, if your coping skills are slightly more flexible and if you want more of a challenge -and an expanded level of realism too- then Germany at War seems to clearly be the winner. Though Panzer Corps aesthetics and superior polish may be able to seduce you more, Germany at War offers more in terms of gameplay, realism and immersion but also, finally, of pure fun. If it was about a boxing match, I'd give the last winner to points !

Hi Gloo,

Hi Ronald, are you talking about a sequel, about patched versions or a DLC, if I may ask ?

Currently we are working on a DLC and the next free update to v1.07 for Germany at War, the latter being neccessary for playing the DLC, as well as a new game you can find on our homepage.

Thats nice to hear! Phobetor has an email list for the press which is used to send out news from time to time. So if you like to be up to date i can add you to it. Just PM me here and i will take care of it.

Another thing, why do you use two different accounts ? It doesn't really matter, but i am a curious person. [;)]
