PBEM Issue - no brigade commanders

Thank you for creating this game, so far I'm enjoying it..

As a test, I accepted a PBEM challenge (playing latest beta) and I ran into an issue with the Wilson's Creek scenario. Playing as the Union, in the first turn I don't see any of my brigade commanders.. The brigade is there, the staff is there but the commander is not...

Gil will have to explain this, but I believe what you're seeing is that at Wilson's Creek the 4th Brigade started the battle without a commander. You should be prompted to promote a new commander for this brigade in an upcoming turn. That should only be for the 4th BDE though. The 1st BDE should have Sturgis and the 3rd, Blair. If you're not seeing commanders for those, then something else is going on.

Yes, there is one brigade at Wilson's Creek that requires a promotion when the game begins. Going from memory here, it's because of the oddity that one officer was commanding both his regiment and the brigade -- and it is impossible to have a guy appear twice in the code. We could, I guess, just put him in command of the brigade and let a subordinate (ahistorically) command his regiment, but this has seemed to be a way of letting players choose who commands the brigade. Are other promitions working in PBEM, when someone is killed midway through the battle? I'm assuming that works fine, so this is only a first-turn issue with that one brigade. Or so I hope!

Strange, I haven't seen this in play vs AI (there I got prompted on game start to choose a commander for that brigade. Here all of the brigade commanders were missing in the night turn! It fixed itself this turn, all is as it should be...
