PFE Scenarios

Piercing Fortress Europa is a new game from veteran game designer Frank Hunter, which covers the campaigns of the Western Allies from July, 1943 through the end of April, 1945 in Sicily and Italy. Each area has its own map and time scale to best represent the campaigns for Sicily and Italy and the player is offered complete freedom, limited only by a historical order of battle and logistics model, to plan his operations and explore all of the many “what ifs” that the Italian theater has to offer.

frank's 'to do list'! [:D]

I have tried to keep cool, but :

There are 11 scenario files in the game folder, with only 6 active in the game at present. The more I think of it, North Africa would work well in PFE, same limited area, hemmed in by the coast and the desert, but a long extended playing area. Same scope for amphibious operations, from 'Torch' into Tunisia, etc., same focus on supply, terrain and weather, which were all very significant historically, as they were in Italy.

Then there's France - Wow !

I do hope that there is a 'to do list'. [:)]

I wouldn't count on it this game appear's dead.

There is a delayed update for 'Campaigns on the Danube' in progress, which may be affecting other work. I don't know what the further development of this game may be, but the potential seems to be there.

It's not dead for me and in some respects it's cutting edge, against some of the other bigger titles gathering dust.

Italy may not be the most anticipated of subjects, but hopefully it's a first installment, time will tell. [:)]

The update for 'Campaigns on the Danube' has gone to Matrix, so work is still going on, possibly PFE next. [:)]
